The article reviews building techniques, used for constructing a monumental fortification of the 6th century, erected in river-valley Rubas, near village Kommuna, Derbent region Republic Dagestan. site includes six objects different layout and construction, connected with junctions into single object – construction arched type, Wall 1, Long wall 2, Stepped structure 6, 3, Platform 5. Analysis excavation material shows that technology their was due to functional purpose these objects. Moreover, each architectural structures built use unique variety masonry, as well sizes stone blocks plates. aim research is conduct analysis technological methods multi-type military-engineering fortifications; determine links object’s purposes; level development engineering architecture Peri-Caspian era Great Migration Peoples significance this military-defensive construction. methodology detailed military structures; carrying out classification defensive system laying materials structures.
